Taking care of your mute is actually pretty straightforward, but to ensure we both sleep well at night, here are a few golden rules.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">1. Sun &amp; Heat (or &#8220;How Not to Make a Pancake&#8221;)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb\"><strong>Direct Sunlight:<\/strong>&nbsp;Keep your mute in the shade. Leaving it on a windowsill or sunbathing in direct heat&nbsp;<strong>will cause it to lose<\/strong>&nbsp;its original shape and character.<br><br><strong>Car Trunks &amp; Summer Heat:<\/strong>&nbsp;We did it for science! We tested one of our mutes in a car trunk for two full weeks during an Estonian summer\u2014which, let\u2019s be honest, isn't exactly the Sahara\u2014and it survived and works perfectly.&nbsp;<strong>HOWEVER<\/strong>, if your car interior or trunk gets above 60\u00b0C (140\u00b0F), things get critical. The material will start to soften, and your mute might turn into an abstract art piece.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">2. If Accidents Happen (The Floor vs. Gravity Conflict)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb\">We know that things happen on stage and in rehearsal rooms. If your mute slips out of your hand, hits tile or concrete, and develops a crack: <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb\"><code><strong>Don't Panic!<\/strong>&nbsp;You don't need to rush out and buy a new one right away.<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb\"><strong>First Aid:<\/strong>&nbsp;Your best friend here is&nbsp;<strong>Super Glue Gel<\/strong>&nbsp;(the gel version works best!). Apply a small amount of gel directly over the crack to seal it,&nbsp;<strong>let it dry for a few moments<\/strong>, and your mute is battle-ready again.
